Regular hedge trimming prevents fast growing hedges becoming overgrown and neglected. However, the annual trimming of re-growth maintains and creates healthy hedgerows. A tree’s overall appearance and health are heavily impacted by the regularity of its trimming and pruning. We suggest maintenance trimming once a year for informal hedges and twice a year for formal hedges.

Leylandii Hedge Trimming

A popular form of hedging is the Leylandii. If maintained correctly, they form an attractive secure boundary. However, there are problems with the species as they are extremely fast growing. Consequently, without regular maintenance they take over gardens which can cause problems with neighbours. Our solution to this is regular trimming which we can provide at reasonable costs.

New hedges require formative pruning for their first couple of years after planting. This type of hedge trimming is typically started in winter or spring.
